As Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Harvest Partners, Mr. Barnett established this new platform for the acquisition, development, and redevelopment of institutional quality commercial properties, including large scale urban mixed-use developments with an emphasis on retail. It is this direction that first lead to the pursuit of the currently planned $550MM Park Lane development in Dallas, TX., the $50MM Harbor Point development in Garland, TX, and the $160MM Landing development in Renton (Seattle), WA.
All of these developments build on a real estate development career that has spanned over 33 years, covering all types of entrepreneurial-based real estate projects. With developments in twelve different states, Mr. Barnett’s has been involved in “build-to-suit†opportunities for national credit tenants, large-scale retail power centers, and smaller grocery store anchored shopping centers.
In addition to these retail multi-use projects, Mr. Barnett’s development resume also includes several other multi-use projects, office buildings, high-end residential, and land/lot development, all of which combine for over 5,000,000 S.F. of developed property and $1.00B in total property value.
Mr. Barnett is committed to maintaining both style and institutional quality in his projects, achieving those goals through distinctive architectural design features and the commitment of capital as needed to bring developments to the desired level of excellence. All of Mr. Barnett’s projects have been purchased by—and most are still owned by—nationally recognized pension funds and publicly traded REITS, and all achieved better than average cap rates for the sale price—powerful confirmation of the quality and enduring value of Barnett developments.
Mr. Barnett holds a B.A. from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University. He, his wife Sheryl, and their children reside in Dallas.
